Dear MABA Members,
Hello everyone from your 2003 Mid-America
Buckskin Queen. I must say I am excited to be writing
this letter to all of you. It seems like only
yesterday I followed Rob to my first Buckskin show over in
Illinois back in 1996.
For those of you that may not know me, I am Ivalee McGuire.
I am 21 years old and show Scootin Around Town. You
may know me as Ivy. I am currently a junior at Ball
State University, studying Criminal Justice and hope to have
a fulfilling and rewarding career in Law Enforcement.
As I mentioned earlier, I was introduced to the fun and
WORK of Buckskin horse shows in 1996. I followed
Rob Robinson and my lifelong friend Kya Mullendore to shows
and became there devoted “groom girl”. This
“tradition” continued when my now Fiancé’ started showing
Buckskins in 1999. Finally, in 2001 I got the
opportunity to realize my dream and show for myself.
What can I say besides that I am hooked and plan to show for
as long as I am physically and monetarily capable.
In 2003 I hope to represent your charter how it deserves to
be, and thank you for the opportunity to do just that.
I want to give thanks to everybody who has given me support
over the past few years. There are far too many to
name each one individually, and I would hate to leave
someone unmentioned. However, I would like to say
thank you to my mother Regina, Tim, and Gregg Smith for
everything you have done to make my dream a reality. I
am also grateful for all of the new friends I have made
along the way. I hope to see everyone at the upcoming
Hoosier Horse Fair and IBHA convention. Lastly, I want
to wish you all the very best of luck in next years show
season.
Ivalee McGuire
